Online Reading Resources

Students have access to ebooks through Destiny, our school library database program. The link is in The Core.

Sora is another digital book collections students can access through The Core. Sora can also link to the West Florida Regional Library digital resources.

MyOn is also in The Core. It has digital ebooks for all levels and links to the AR tests when the books are complete.

Storyline Online, streams videos featuring celebrated actors reading children’s books alongside creatively produced illustrations. Readers include Viola Davis, Chris Pine, Lily Tomlin, Kevin Costner, Annette Bening, James Earl Jones, Betty White and dozens more.

Mo Willems invites YOU into his studio for his LUNCH DOODLE. Learners worldwide can draw, doodle and explore new ways of writing by visiting Mo’s studio virtually. Grab some paper and pencils, pens, or crayons and join Mo to explore ways of writing and making together.

Epic is now offering their product for free! Free online books! Send me your email address and your student(s) name. I will send you an invitation to the site. You will get a separate email for each student so they can log their own books.

Every student in Escambia County has access to the digital collection of the West Florida Public Library System, RB Digital. They have e-books and audio books available for checkout.

DOGO News is a superb reading resource that offers a variety of content covering current events, sports, science, technology and more. Each article is kid friendly and contains links to definitions of words students may find complicated. Content is searchable by grade level or category, and includes links to relevant national standards. Content is free to view.

Now imagine Astronauts on the Space Station reading stories to and conducting science experiments for the children of Earth as the world rotates below. Imagine no more…it’s Story Time from Space!
