All About Me:
I am Ashley Seitz, and I am excited to have the opportunity to work with you and your child this school year! I have been teaching for eighteen years. I began my teaching career as a first grade teacher for 3 years, and then moved to Kindergarten for 8 years, and now teach second grade. I was born and raised in Pensacola, FL, and spent 4 years at Mississippi State University where I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. I have been married to Ed for 16 years and we two precious furry baby Bowden and Boca. We spent most of our time traveling and spending time with our 5 nieces and 3 nephews. It is my goal to build on your child's strengths while instilling a love for learning. I look forward to teaching and loving your little one as my own as we learn and grow together this school year.
Please check and return your child's TAKE HOME FOLDER DAILY! Homework Folders will be sent home on Monday's with your child's weekly homework packet. Please return the Homework Folder on FRIDAY!
Your child needs to start memorizing his/her addition and subtraction facts to 18.
I suggest making a set of flashcards or they can be purchased at Dollar Tree.
Please have your child read ALOUD to an adult EVERY night.

I know we are all anxious about making sure everyone stays safe in this new environment. I want you to know that I will be doing everything in my power to keep your little one as protected as I can while teaching them with all the energy and enthusiasm that they deserve.
The students LOVE to take a bath in hand sanitzer. LOL! In the past, I haven't had to worry about them using too much...ie playing in it. But now, we know that Sanitizer is liquid gold. Please help your little one learn to use just one squirt. I know that will be a challenge but we can do it! I would like to allow each kiddo to have their own personal bottle on their desk. I will refill them when they begin running low. I know that accidents will happen with spilling sanitizer and using too much, but the better they are at being responsible for their own bottle, the easier for me.

The very best way to always stay informed of your child's progress and the latest happenings in Room 237 is to log in and sign up for Class Dojo! We use this program everyday to monitor student behavior, as well as send out updates to you, the parents. I can communicate with you individually or as a whole group. I LOVE this program! If you don't join in, you will miss out on so much.
Wear Tennis Shoes EVERYDAY!
Birthdays
We LOVE to celebrate birthdays at school! If you would like to send in a special treat for your kiddo to help celebrate, please give me about a weeks notice please. Some of the best items to send in are MINI cupcakes, donuts or cookies. Remember all items must be store bought...nothing homemade. :)
When sending in invitations for me to send home with friends, please remember to include an invite for every kiddo. Thanks!
